The Tutorial is a location in Demon's Souls.
In the beginning of the game the player is asked whether or not they would like to play the "Journey to the Nexus" if the player answers "Yes", then they will begin in the Tutorial rather than the Nexus.

General Information
If the player manages to defeat the Vanguard when they encounter it they will be transported to a new area of the tutorial that houses many useful items. If the player dies in the tutorial area they will keep all souls aquired throughout their journey. There is no way to not die at some point in the tutorial area.
